The fast developing trend of Information Technology and the increasing requirement for Information and Network Security have demanded for efficient personal identification systems. Biometrics is seen by many as a solution to a lot of the user identification and security problems in today„s networks. Either intentional or inadvertent, misuse or abuse of passwords is a gaping hole in the present day security system. This paper proposes multimodal biometric system for identity verification using two biometric traits such as fingerprint and iris. In this paper, Fingerprint verification is performed using Minutiae Matching Technique and Iris verification uses Daugman Algorithm along with consideration of intra-class variation in the iris pattern. The final decision is made by fusion at “Decision level” in which separate authentication decision is made for each biometric trait and these scores are then combined to make a final decision. Keywords
